Our Story
From Vision to Reality
SierraDental was founded in 2022 by Dr. Ahmed Al-Hassan Sheriff, driven by a vision to create a welcoming dental environment in Sierra Leone. Starting from humble beginnings in a two-room apartment, Dr. Sheriff was determined to provide quality dental care to his community despite limited resources.
In July 2023, our dedication was recognized when SierraDental won first place at the Venture School Pitch Competition in Iowa, USA, competing against 24 entrepreneurs from 22 African countries. This achievement enabled us to expand from a home-based practice to a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Freetown.
Following additional competition wins in Sierra Leone and the UK throughout 2024, SierraDental now stands as a symbol of progress and hope, committed to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality dental services across Africa.
